Num 5:8 ‘But if the man has no relative to restore the guilt to, the guilt which is restored goes to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, for the priest, in addition to the ram of the atonement with which atonement is made for him.
Num 5:9 ‘And every contribution of all the set-apart gifts of the children of Yashara'Al, which they bring to the priest, becomes his.
Num 5:10 ‘And every man’s set-apart gifts becomes his, whatever any man gives the priest becomes his.’ ”
Num 5:11 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 5:12 “Speak to the children of Yashara'Al, and say to them, ‘When any man’s wife turns aside and has committed a trespass against him,
Num 5:13 and a man has intercourse with her, and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband, and it is concealed that she has defiled herself, and there was no witness against her, nor was she caught,
Num 5:14 and a spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife who has defiled herself, or a spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife although she has not defiled herself,
Num 5:15 then the man shall bring his wife to the priest. And he shall bring the offering for her, one-tenth of an aiphah of barley flour. He is not to pour oil on it or put frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering of jealousy, an offering for remembering, for bringing crookedness to remembrance.
Num 5:16 ‘And the priest shall bring her near, and shall make her stand before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 5:17 ‘And the priest shall take set-apart water in an earthen vessel, and take some of the dust that is on the floor of the Dwelling Place and put it into the water.
Num 5:18 ‘And the priest shall make the woman stand before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and shall uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering for remembering in her hands, which is the grain offering of jealousy, while the priest holds in his hand the bitter water that brings a curse.
Num 5:19 ‘And the priest shall make her swear, and say to the woman, “If no man has lain with you, and if you have not turned aside to uncleanness under your husband’s authority, be free from this bitter water that brings a curse.
Num 5:20 “But if you have turned aside under your husband’s authority, and if you have defiled yourself and some man other than your husband has lain with you” –
Num 5:21 then the priest shall make the woman swear with the oath of the curse, and he shall say to the woman – “ 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 make you a curse and an oath among your people, when 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 makes your thigh waste away and your belly swell,
Num 5:22 and this water that causes the curse shall go into your inward parts, and make your belly swell and your thigh waste away.” And the woman shall say, “Aman, Aman.”
Num 5:23 ‘And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and shall wipe them off into the bitter water,
Num 5:24 and shall make the woman drink the bitter water that brings the curse, and the water that brings the curse shall enter her to become bitter.
Num 5:25 ‘And the priest shall take the grain offering of jealousy from the woman’s hand, and shall wave the offering before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and bring it to the altar.
Num 5:26 ‘And the priest shall take a hand filled with the offering, as its remembrance offering, and burn it on the altar, and afterward make the woman drink the water.
Num 5:27 ‘And when he has made her drink the water, then it shall be, if she has defiled herself and has committed a trespass against her husband, that the water that brings the curse shall enter her and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall waste away, and the woman shall become a curse among her people.
Num 5:28 ‘But if the woman has not defiled herself, and is clean, then she shall be clear and shall conceive children.
t
Num 5:29 ‘This is the Thurath of jealousy, when a wife turns aside under her husband’s authority and defiles herself,
Num 5:30 or when a spirit of jealousy comes upon a man, and he becomes jealous of his wife. Then he shall make the woman stand before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and the priest shall do to her all this Thurah.
Num 5:31 ‘And the man shall be clear from crookedness, but the woman bear her crookedness.’ ”
Num 6:1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 6:2 “Speak to the children of Yashara'Al, and say to them, ‘When a man or woman does separate, by making a vow of a Nazir, to be separate to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄,
Num 6:3 he separates himself from wine and strong drink – he drinks neither vinegar of wine nor vinegar of strong drink, neither does he drink any grape juice, nor eat grapes or raisins.
Num 6:4 ‘All the days of his separation he does not eat whatever is made of the grapevine, from seed to skin.
Num 6:5 ‘All the days of the vow of his separation a razor does not come upon his head. Until the days are completed for which he does separate himself to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, he is set-apart. He shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow long.
Num 6:6 ‘All the days of his separation to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 he does not go near a dead body.
Num 6:7 ‘He does not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother or his sister, when they die, because his separation to Alahiym is on his head.
Num 6:8 ‘All the days of his separation he is set-apart to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 6:9 ‘And when anyone dies beside him in an instant, suddenly, and he has defiled the head of his separation, then he shall shave his head on the day of his cleansing – on the seventh day he shaves it.
Num 6:10 ‘And on the eighth day he brings two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest, to the door of the Tent of Meeting,
Num 6:11 and the priest shall prepare one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, and shall make atonement for him, because he sinned by reason of the dead body. And he shall set apart his head on that day,
Num 6:12 and shall separate to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 the days of his separation, and shall bring a male lamb a year old, as a guilt offering. But the former days are not counted, because his separation was defiled.
Num 6:13 ‘And this is the Thurath of the Nazir: When the days of his separation are completed, he is brought to the door of the Tent of Meeting,
Num 6:14 and he shall bring his offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 : one male lamb a year old, a perfect one, as a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb a year old, a perfect one, as a sin offering, and one ram, a perfect one, as a peace offering,
Num 6:15 and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, and unleavened thin cakes anointed with oil, and their grain offering with their drink offerings.
Num 6:16 ‘And the priest shall bring them before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 and prepare his sin offering and his burnt offering.
Num 6:17 ‘And he shall prepare the ram as a peace offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, together with the basket of unleavened bread. And the priest shall prepare its grain offering and its drink offering.
Num 6:18 ‘And the Nazir shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the Tent of Meeting, and shall take the hair from the head of his separation and shall put it on the fire which is under the slaughtering of the peace offering.
Num 6:19 ‘And the priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake from the basket, and one unleavened thin cake, and put them upon the hands of the Nazir after he has shaved his hair of separation.
Num 6:20 ‘Then the priest shall wave them, a wave offering before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄. It is set-apart for the priest, besides the breast of the wave offering and besides the thigh of the contribution. And afterwards the Nazir shall drink wine.’
Num 6:21 “This is the Thurath of the Nazir who vows to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 the offering for his separation, and besides that, whatever else his hand is able to provide. According to the vow which he takes, so he shall do according to the Thurah of his separation.”
Num 6:22 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 6:23 “Speak to Aharan and his sons, saying, ‘This is how you bless the children of Yashara'Al. Say to them:
Num 6:24 “ 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 bless you and guard you;
Num 6:25 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 make His face shine upon you, and show favor to you;
Num 6:26 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 lift up His face upon you, and give you peace.” ’
Num 6:27 “Thus they shall put My Name on the children of Yashara'Al, and I Myself shall bless them.”
Num 7:1 And it came to be, when Mashah finished setting up the Dwelling Place, that he anointed it and set it apart and all its furnishings, as well as the altar and all its utensils. Thus he anointed them and set them apart.

Num 7:4 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 7:5 “Accept these from them, and they shall be used in doing the service of the Tent of Meeting. And you shall give them to the Luiym, each one according to his service.”

Num 7:89 And when Mashah went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with Him, he heard the voice of One speaking to him from above the lid of atonement that was on the ark of the Witness, from between the two karabiym. Thus He spoke to him.
Num 8:1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 8:2 “Speak to Aharan, and say to him, ‘When you set up the lamps, let the seven lamps give light in front of the lampstand.’ ”
Num 8:3 And Aharan did so. He set up the lamps to face toward the front of the lampstand, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded Mashah.
Num 8:4 And this is the work of the lampstand: beaten work of gold, from its base to its blossoms it is beaten work. According to the pattern which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had shown Mashah, so he made the lampstand.
Num 8:5 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 8:6 “Take the Luiym from among the children of Yashara'Al, and you shall cleanse them,
Num 8:7 and do this to them to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of sin offering on them, and they shall shave all their body, and shall wash their garments, and cleanse themselves,
Num 8:8 and shall take a young bull with its grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil, while you take another young bull as a sin offering.
Num 8:9 “And you shall bring the Luiym before the Tent of Meeting, and you shall assemble all the congregation of the children of Yashara'Al.
Num 8:10 “And you shall bring the Luiym before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and the children of Yashara'Al shall lay their hands on the Luiym,
Num 8:11 and Aharan shall wave the Luiym before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, a wave offering from the children of Yashara'Al – so shall they be for doing the service of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 8:12 “And the Luiym shall lay their hands on the heads of the young bulls. And one shall be prepared as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, to make atonement for the Luiym.
Num 8:13 “And you shall have the Luiym stand before Aharan and his sons, and then wave them, a wave offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 8:14 “Thus you shall separate the Luiym from among the children of Yashara'Al, and the Luiym shall be Mine.
Num 8:15 “Then after that the Luiym shall go in to do service in the Tent of Meeting, when you have cleansed them and waved them as a wave offering.
Num 8:16 “For they are given ones, given to Me from among the children of Yashara'Al. I have taken them for Myself instead of all who open the womb, the first-born of all the children of Yashara'Al.
Num 8:17 “For all the first-born among the children of Yashara'Al are Mine, both man and beast. On the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Matsriym I set them apart unto Myself.
Num 8:18 “And I have taken the Luiym instead of all the first-born of the children of Yashara'Al.
Num 8:19 “And I have given the Luiym as a gift to Aharan and his sons from among the children of Yashara'Al, to do the service of the children of Yashara'Al in the Tent of Meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Yashara'Al, that there be no plague among the children of Yashara'Al when the children of Yashara'Al come near the set-apart place.”
Num 8:20 Thus Mashah and Aharan and all the congregation of the children of Yashara'Al did to the Luiym according to all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded Mashah concerning the Luiym, so the children of Yashara'Al did to them.
Num 8:21 And the Luiym cleansed themselves and washed their garments, and Aharan waved them, a wave offering before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and Aharan made atonement for them to cleanse them.
Num 8:22 Then after that the Luiym went in to do their service in the Tent of Meeting before Aharan and his sons as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded Mashah concerning the Luiym, so they did to them.
Num 8:23 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 8:24 “This applies to the Luiym: From twenty-five years old and above let him come into active service in the service of the Tent of Meeting,
Num 8:25 and at the age of fifty years they retire from active service of the service, and serve no more,
Num 8:26 but they shall attend with their brothers in the Tent of Meeting, to guard the duty, but shall do no service. Thus you shall do to the Luiym regarding their duties.”
Num 9:1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah in the Wilderness of Siniy, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Matsriym, saying,
Num 9:2 “Now, let the children of Yashara'Al perform the Phasach at its appointed time.
Num 9:3 “On the fourteenth day of this month, between the evenings, perform it at its appointed time. According to all its laws and right-rulings you perform it.”
Num 9:4 And Mashah spoke to the children of Yashara'Al to perform the Phasach.
Num 9:5 So they performed the Phasach on the fourteenth day of the first month, between the evenings, in the Wilderness of Siniy. According to all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded Mashah, so the children of Yashara'Al did.
Num 9:6 But there were men who were defiled for a being of a man, so that they were not able to perform the Phasach on that day. So they came before Mashah and Aharan that day,
Num 9:7 and those men said to him, “We are defiled for the being of a man. Why are we withheld from bringing near the offering of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 at its appointed time among the children of Yashara'Al?”
Num 9:8 And Mashah said to them, “Wait, let me hear what 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commands concerning you.”
Num 9:9 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 9:10 “Speak to the children of Yashara'Al, saying, ‘When any male of you or your generations is unclean for a being, or is far away on a journey, he shall still perform the Phasach of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 9:11 ‘On the fourteenth day of the second month, between the evenings, they perform it – with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they eat it.
Num 9:12 ‘They do not leave of it until morning, and they do not break a bone of it. According to all the laws of the Phasach they perform it.
Num 9:13 ‘But the man who is clean and is not on a journey, and has failed to perform the Phasach, that same being shall be cut off from among his people, because he did not bring the offering of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 at its appointed time – that man bears his sin.
Num 9:14 ‘And when a stranger sojourns among you, then he shall perform the Phasach of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄. He shall do so according to the law of the Phasach and according to its right-ruling. You have one law, both for the stranger and the native of the land.’ ”
Num 9:15 And on the day that the Dwelling Place was raised up, the cloud covered the Dwelling Place, the Tent of the Witness. From evening until morning it was above the Dwelling Place like the appearance of fire.
Num 9:16 Thus it was continually: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.
Num 9:17 And whenever the cloud was taken up from above the Tent, after that the children of Yashara'Al would depart. And in the place where the cloud dwelt, there the children of Yashara'Al would camp.
Num 9:18 At the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 the children of Yashara'Al departed, and at the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 they camped. They remained camped as long as the cloud dwelt above the Dwelling Place.
Num 9:19 Even when the cloud lingered many days above the Dwelling Place, the children of Yashara'Al guarded the Charge of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and did not depart.
Num 9:20 And so it was, when the cloud was above the Dwelling Place a few days: according to the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 they camped, and according to the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 they would depart.
Num 9:21 And so it was, when the cloud dwelt only from evening until morning: when the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they departed. Whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud was taken up, they departed.
Num 9:22 Whether two days, or a month, or a year that the cloud lingered above the Dwelling Place to dwell upon it, the children of Yashara'Al camped, and did not depart. But when it was taken up, they departed.
Num 9:23 At the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 they camped, and at the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 they departed. They guarded the Charge of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, at the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 by the hand of Mashah.
Num 10:1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 10:2 “Make two silver trumpets for yourself, make them of beaten work. And you shall use them for calling the congregation and for breaking camp.
Num 10:3 “And when they blow both of them, all the congregation shall meet before you at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
Num 10:4 “And if they blow one, then the leaders, the heads of the thousands of Yashara'Al, shall gather to you.
Num 10:5 “And when you blow a shout, the camps that lie on the east side shall depart.
Num 10:6 “And when you blow a shout the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall depart – they blow a shout for them to depart.
Num 10:7 “And when the assembly is to be assembled, you blow, but do not shout.
Num 10:8 “And the sons of Aharan, the priests, blow with the trumpets. And it shall be to you for a law forever throughout your generations.
Num 10:9 “And when you go into battle in your land against the enemy that distresses you, then you shall shout with the trumpets, and you shall be remembered before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahiym, and you shall be saved from your enemies.
Num 10:10 “And in the day of your gladness, and in your appointed times, and at the beginning of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over your peace offerings. And they shall be a remembrance for you before your Alahiym. I am 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahiym.”
Num 10:11 And it came to be on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from above the Dwelling Place of the Witness.
Num 10:12 And the children of Yashara'Al departed, setting out from the Wilderness of Siniy. And the cloud dwelt on it in the Wilderness of Pharan.
Num 10:13 Thus they departed the first time, according to the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 by the hand of Mashah.
Num 10:14 And the banner of the camp of the children of Yahudah departed first according to their divisions. And over their army was Nachshun, son of Auminadab.
Num 10:15 And over the army of the tribe of the children of Yash'shakar was Nathan'Al, son of Tsu'aur.
Num 10:16 And over the army of the tribe of the children of Zabulan was Aliyab, son of Chalan.
Num 10:17 And the Dwelling Place was taken down. And the sons of Garshun and the sons of Marariy departed, bearing the Dwelling Place.
Num 10:18 And the banner of the camp of Ra'uban departed according to their divisions. And over their army was Aliytsur, son of Shadia'ur.
Num 10:19 And over the army of the tribe of the children of Shamau'un was Shalamiy'Al, son of Tsurishadiy.
Num 10:20 And over the army of the tribe of the children of Gad was Aliysaph, the son of Dau'u'Al.
Num 10:21 And the Qahathiym departed, bearing the set-apart objects, while the Dwelling Place was set up before they came.
Num 10:22 And the banner of the camp of the children of Aphariym departed according to their divisions. And over their army was Aliyshamau, son of Aumihud.
Num 10:23 And over the army of the tribe of the children of Manashah was Gamliy'Al, son of Phadahtsur.
Num 10:24 And over the army of the tribe of the children of Banyaman was Abiydan, son of Gad'auniy.
Num 10:25 Then the banner of the camp of the children of Dan, which formed the rear guard of all the camps, departed according to their divisions. And over their army was Achiy'auzar, son of Aumishadiy.
Num 10:26 And over the army of the tribe of the children of Ashar was Phag'auiy'Al, the son of Aukran.
Num 10:27 And over the army of the tribe of the children of Naphthaliy was Achiyrau, the son of Auinan.
Num 10:28 Such was the order of setting out of the children of Yashara'Al, according to their divisions, when they departed.
Num 10:29 And Mashah said to Chabab, the son of Rau'u'Al the Madyaniy, Mashah’s father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said, ‘I give it to you.’ Come with us, and we shall do good to you, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has spoken good concerning Yashara'Al.”
Num 10:30 And he replied to him, “I am not going, but I am going to my own land and to my relatives.”
Num 10:31 Then he said, “Please do not leave us, because you know how we are to camp in the wilderness, and you shall be our eyes.
Num 10:32 “And it shall be, when you go with us, then it shall be that whatever good 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 does to us, the same we shall do to you.”
Num 10:33 So they set out from the mountain of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 on a journey of three days. And the ark of the covenant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 went before them for the three days’ journey, to seek out a resting place for them.
Num 10:34 And the cloud of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 was above them by day when they went out from the camp.
Num 10:35 And it came to be, whenever the ark set out, that Mashah said, “Rise up, O 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 ! And let Your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate You flee before You.”
Num 10:36 And when it rested, he said, “Return, O 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, to the countless thousands of Yashara'Al.”
Num 11:1 And it came to be, when the people were as complainers, it was evil in the ears of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄. And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 heard it, and His displeasure burned. And the fire of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 burned among them, and consumed those in the outskirts of the camp.
Num 11:2 And the people cried out to Mashah, and Mashah prayed to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and the fire died down.
Num 11:3 Then he called the name of the place Thab'aurah, because the fire of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had burned among them.
Num 11:4 And the mixed multitude who were in their midst lusted greatly, so the children of Yashara'Al also wept again and said, “Who is giving us meat to eat?
Num 11:5 “We remember the fish which we ate without cost in Matsriym, the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic,
Num 11:6 but now our throat is dried up. There is naught to look at but this man!”
Num 11:7 Now the man was like coriander seed, and its appearance like the appearance of badalach.
Num 11:8 The people went about and gathered it, ground it on millstones or beat it in the mortar, and cooked it in a pot, and made cakes of it. And its taste was as the taste of cakes baked with oil.
Num 11:9 And when the dew fell on the camp at night, the man fell on it.
Num 11:10 And Mashah heard the people weeping throughout their clans, each man at the door of his tent. And the displeasure of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 burned exceedingly. And in the eyes of Mashah it was evil,
Num 11:11 so Mashah said to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, “Why have You done evil to Your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your eyes, to put the burden of all these people on me?
Num 11:12 “Was it I who conceived all these people? Was it I who brought them forth, that You should say to me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as the foster father carries a nursing child,’ to the land which You swore to their fathers?
Num 11:13 “Where am I to get meat to give to all these people? For they weep before me, saying, ‘Give us meat to eat.’
Num 11:14 “I am unable to bear all these people alone, because the burden is too heavy for me.
Num 11:15 “And if You are doing this to me, please slay me altogether, if I have found favor in Your eyes, and let me not see my evil!”
Num 11:16 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Mashah, “Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Yashara'Al, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them. And bring them to the Tent of Meeting, and let them stand there with you.
Num 11:17 “And I shall come down and speak with you there, and shall take of the Spirit that is on you, and put on them. And they shall bear the burden of the people with you, so that you do not bear it yourself alone.
Num 11:18 “And say to the people, ‘Set yourselves apart for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat, because you have wept in the hearing of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, saying, “Who is giving us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Matsriym.” And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 shall give you meat, and you shall eat.
Num 11:19 ‘You are going to eat, not one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days,
Num 11:20 but for a month of days, until it comes out of your nostrils and becomes an abomination to you, because you have rejected 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 who is among you, and have wept before Him, saying, “Why did we come up out of Matsriym?” ’ ”
Num 11:21 And Mashah said, “The people in whose midst I am are six hundred thousand men on foot, and You, You have said, ‘I give them meat to eat for a month of days.’
Num 11:22 “Could flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to be sufficient for them? Or could all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to be sufficient for them?”
Num 11:23 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Mashah, “Is the arm of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 too short? Now see whether My word meets you or not!”
Num 11:24 And Mashah went out and spoke to the people the words of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and he gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people and placed them around the Tent.
Num 11:25 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders. And it came to be, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, but did not continue.
Num 11:26 However, two men had remained in the camp. The name of one was Aldad, and the name of the other Miydad. And the Spirit rested upon them. Now they were among those listed, but did not go out to the Tent. And they prophesied in the camp.
Num 11:27 And a young man ran and informed Mashah, and said, “Aldad and Miydad are prophesying in the camp.”
Num 11:28 And Yahusha son of Nun, Mashah’s assistant from his youth, answered and said, “Mashah my master, forbid them!”
Num 11:29 Then Mashah said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? Oh, that all the people of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 were prophets, that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 would put His Spirit upon them!”
Num 11:30 And Mashah returned to the camp, both he and the elders of Yashara'Al.
Num 11:31 And a wind went forth from 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and it brought quail from the sea and let them fall beside the camp, about a day’s journey on this side and about a day’s journey on the other side, all around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the ground.
Num 11:32 And the people were up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and gathered the quail. He who has least gathered ten chamariym. And they spread them out for themselves all around the camp.
Num 11:33 The meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, and the wrath of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 burned against the people, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 smote the people with an exceeding great plague.
Num 11:34 Then he called the name of that place Qabruth Hatha'uah, because there they buried the people who had lusted.
Num 11:35 From Qabruth Hatha'uah the people set out for Chatsaruth – and they were at Chatsaruth.
Num 12:1 Now Mariym and Aharan spoke against Mashah because of the Kushiyth woman whom he had taken, for he had taken a Kushiyth woman.
Num 12:2 And they said, “Has 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoken only through Mashah? Has He not also spoken through us?” And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 heard it.
Num 12:3 And the man Mashah was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.
Num 12:4 And suddenly 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Mashah, and Aharan, and Mariym, “You three, come out to the Tent of Meeting!” So the three came out.
Num 12:5 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 came down in the column of cloud and stood in the door of the Tent, and called Aharan and Mariym. And they both went forward.
Num 12:6 And He said, “Hear now My words: If your prophet is of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, I make Myself known to him in a vision, and I speak to him in a dream.
Num 12:7 “Not so with My servant Mashah, he is trustworthy in all My house.
Num 12:8 “I speak with him mouth to mouth, and plainly, and not in riddles. And he sees the form of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄. So why were you not afraid to speak against My servant Mashah?”
Num 12:9 And the displeasure of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 burned against them, and He left.
Num 12:10 And the cloud turned away from above the Tent, and look: Mariym was leprous, as white as snow! And Aharan turned toward Mariym, and look: a leper!
Num 12:11 And Aharan said to Mashah, “Oh, my master! Please do not hold against us the sin in which we have done foolishly and in which we have sinned.
Num 12:12 “Please do not let her be as one dead when coming out of its mother’s womb, with our flesh half consumed!”
Num 12:13 And Mashah cried out to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, saying, “O Al, please heal her, please!”
Num 12:14 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Mashah, “If her father had but spit in her face, would she not be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut out of the camp seven days, and after that let her be readmitted.”
Num 12:15 And Mariym was shut out of the camp seven days, and the people did not set out until Mariym was readmitted.
Num 12:16 And afterward the people departed from Chatsaruth, and they camped in the Wilderness of Pharan.
Num 13:1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 13:2 “Send men to spy out the land of Kana'aun, which I am giving to the children of Yashara'Al. Send one man from each tribe of their fathers, every one a leader among them.”
Num 13:3 And by the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 Mashah sent them from the Wilderness of Pharan, all of them men who were heads of the children of Yashara'Al.
Num 13:4 And these were their names. From the tribe of Ra'uban: Shamu'au, son of Zakur.
Num 13:5 From the tribe of Shamau'un: Shaphat, son of Churiy.
Num 13:6 From the tribe of Yahudah: Kalab, son of Yaphanah.
Num 13:7 From the tribe of Yash'shakar: Yagal, son of YahuSaph.
Num 13:8 From the tribe of Aphariym: Husha, son of Nun.
Num 13:9 From the tribe of Banyaman: Phaltiy, son of Raphua.
Num 13:10 From the tribe of Zabulan: Gadiy'Al, son of Sudiy.
Num 13:11 From the tribe of YahuSaph, from the tribe of Manashah: Gadiy, son of Susiy.
Num 13:12 From the tribe of Dan: Aumiy'Al, son of Gamaliy.
Num 13:13 From the tribe of Ashar: Sathur, son of Miyka'Al.
Num 13:14 From the tribe of Naphthaliy: Nachbiy, son of U'phasiy.
Num 13:15 From the tribe of Gad: Gau'Al, son of Makiy.
Num 13:16 These are the names of the men whom Mashah sent to spy out the land. And Mashah called Husha the son of Nun, Yahusha.
Num 13:17 And Mashah sent them to spy out the land of Kana'aun, and said to them, “Go up here into the South, and go up to the mountains,
Num 13:18 and see what the land is like, and the people who dwell in it, whether strong or weak, whether few or many,
Num 13:19 and whether the land they dwell in is good or evil, whether the cities they inhabit are in camps or strongholds,
Num 13:20 and whether the land is rich or poor, and whether there are forests there or not. And you shall be strong, and bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the season of the first-fruits of grapes.
Num 13:21 So they went up and spied out the land from the Wilderness of Tsan as far as Rachab, near the entrance of Chamath.
Num 13:22 And they went up through the South and came to Chabrun. And Achiyman, Shashiy, and Thalmiy, the descendants of Aunaq, were there. Now Chabrun had been built seven years before Tsaun in Matsriym.
Num 13:23 And they came to the valley Ashkal, and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes. And they bore it between two of them on a pole, also of the pomegranates and of the figs.
Num 13:24 That place was called the valley Ashkal, because of the cluster which the men of Yashara'Al cut down from there.
Num 13:25 And they returned from spying out the land after forty days.
Num 13:26 And they went and came to Mashah and Aharan and all the congregation of the children of Yashara'Al in the Wilderness of Pharan, at Qadash. And they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.
Num 13:27 And they reported to him, and said, “We went to the land where you sent us. And truly, it flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.
Num 13:28 “But the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are walled, very great. And we saw the descendants of Aunaq there too.
Num 13:29 “The Aumalaqs dwell in the land of the South, while the Chathiy and the Yabusiy and the Amariy dwell in the mountains. And the Kana'auniy dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Yardan.”
Num 13:30 And Kalab silenced the people before Mashah, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are certainly able to overcome it.”
Num 13:31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.”
Num 13:32 And they gave the children of Yashara'Al an evil report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land eating up its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great size.
Num 13:33 “And we saw there the Naphiliym, sons of Aunaq, of the Naphiliym. And we were like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and so we were in their eyes.”
Num 14:1 Then all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night.
Num 14:2 And all the children of Yashara'Al grumbled against Mashah and against Aharan, and all the congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Matsriym! Or if only we had died in this wilderness!
Num 14:3 “And why is 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 bringing us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become a prey? Would it not be better for us to turn back to Matsriymah?”
Num 14:4 And they said to each other, “Let us appoint a leader, and let us turn back to Matsriymah.”
Num 14:5 Then Mashah and Aharan fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Yashara'Al.
Num 14:6 And Yahusha son of Nun, and Kalab son of Yaphanah, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their garments,
Num 14:7 and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Yashara'Al, saying, “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land.
Num 14:8 “If 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has delighted in us, then He shall bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which is flowing with milk and honey.’
Num 14:9 “Only, do not rebel against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread. Their defense has turned away from them, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 is with us. Do not fear them.”
Num 14:10 But all the congregation said to stone them with stones. Then the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 appeared in the Tent of Meeting before all the children of Yashara'Al.
Num 14:11 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Mashah, “How long shall I be scorned by these people? And how long shall I not be trusted by them, with all the signs which I have done in their midst?
Num 14:12 “Let Me smite them with the pestilence and disinherit them, and make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”
Num 14:13 And Mashah said to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, “Then the Matsriym shall hear it, for by Your power You brought these people up from their midst,
Num 14:14 and they shall say to the inhabitants of this land they have heard that You, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, are in the midst of these people, that You, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, are seen eye to eye and that Your cloud stands above them, and You go before them in a column of cloud by day and in a column of fire by night.
Num 14:15 “Now if You shall kill these people as one man, then the nations which have heard of Your report shall speak, saying,
Num 14:16 ‘Because 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 was not able to bring this people to the land which He swore to give them, therefore He killed them in the wilderness.’
Num 14:17 “And now, I pray, let the power of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 be great, as You have spoken, saying,
Num 14:18 ‘ 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 is patient and of great kindness, forgiving crookedness and transgression, but by no means leaving unpunished; visiting the crookedness of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.’
Num 14:19 “Please forgive the crookedness of this people, according to the greatness of Your kindness, as You have forgiven this people, from Matsriym even until now.”
Num 14:20 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said, “I shall forgive, according to your word,
Num 14:21 but truly, as I live and all the earth is filled with the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄,
Num 14:22 for none of these men who have seen My esteem and the signs which I did in Matsriym and in the wilderness, and have tried Me now these ten times, and have disobeyed My voice,
Num 14:23 shall see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor any of those who scorned Me see it.
Num 14:24 “But My servant Kalab, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me completely, I shall bring into the land where he went, and his seed shall inherit it.
Num 14:25 “Since the Aumalaqiy and the Kana'auniy are dwelling in the valley, turn back tomorrow and set out into the wilderness by the Way of the Sea of Reeds.”
Num 14:26 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, and to Aharan, saying,
Num 14:27 “How long shall this evil congregation have this grumbling against Me? I have heard the grumblings which the children of Yashara'Al are grumbling against Me.
Num 14:28 “Say to them, ‘As I live,’ declares 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, ‘as you have spoken in My hearing, so I do to you:
Num 14:29 ‘The carcasses of you who have grumbled against Me are going to fall in this wilderness, all of you who were registered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above.
Num 14:30 ‘None of you except Kalab son of Yaphanah, and Yahusha son of Nun, shall enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.
Num 14:31 ‘But your little ones, whom you said would become a prey, I shall bring in, and they shall know the land which you have rejected.
Num 14:32 ‘But as for you, your carcasses are going to fall in this wilderness.
Num 14:33 ‘And your sons shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your whorings, until your carcasses are consumed in the wilderness.
Num 14:34 ‘According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, forty days – a day for a year, a day for a year – you are to bear your crookednesses forty years, and you shall know My breaking off.
Num 14:35 ‘I am 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, I have spoken, I shall do this to all this evil congregation who are meeting against Me: In this wilderness they are consumed, and there they die.’ ”
Num 14:36 And the men whom Mashah sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation grumble against him by bringing an evil report of the land,
Num 14:37 even those men who brought the evil report about the land, died by the plague before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 14:38 Of those men who went to spy out the land, only Yahusha son of Nun, and Kalab son of Yaphanah remained alive.
Num 14:39 And when Mashah spoke these words to all the children of Yashara'Al, the people mourned greatly.
Num 14:40 And they rose up early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “See, we have indeed sinned, but we shall go up to the place which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had spoken of!”
Num 14:41 But Mashah said, “Why do you now transgress the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, since it does not prosper?
Num 14:42 “Do not go up, lest you be smitten by your enemies, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 is not in your midst.
Num 14:43 “Because the Aumalaqiy and the Kana'auniy are there before you, and you shall fall by the sword. Because you have turned away from 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 is not with you.”
Num 14:44 But they presumed to go up to the mountaintop, but neither the ark of the covenant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 nor Mashah left the camp.
Num 14:45 So the Aumalaqiy and the Kana'auniy who dwelt in that mountain came down and smote them, and beat them down, even to Charmah.
Num 15:1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 15:2 “Speak to the children of Yashara'Al, and say to them, ‘When you have come into the land of your dwellings, which I am giving you,
Num 15:3 and you make an offering by fire to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, a burnt offering or a slaughtering, to accomplish a vow or as a voluntary offering or in your appointed times, to make a sweet fragrance to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, from the herd or the flock,
Num 15:4 then he who brings near his offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 shall bring near a grain offering of a one-tenth of fine flour mixed with one-fourth of a hin of oil,
Num 15:5 and one-fourth of a hin of wine as a drink offering you prepare with the burnt offering or the slaughtering, for each lamb.
Num 15:6 ‘Or for a ram you prepare as a grain offering two-tenths of fine flour mixed with one-third of a hin of oil,
Num 15:7 and as a drink offering you bring one-third of a hin of wine as a sweet fragrance to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 15:8 ‘And when you prepare a young bull as a burnt offering, or as a slaughtering to accomplish a vow, or as a peace offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄,
Num 15:9 then shall be brought with the young bull a grain offering of three-tenths of fine flour mixed with half a hin of oil,
Num 15:10 and bring as the drink offering half a hin of wine as an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 15:11 ‘This is what is done for each young bull, for each ram, or for each lamb or young goat.
Num 15:12 ‘According to the number that you prepare, so you do for each one according to their number.
Num 15:13 ‘Let all who are native do so with them, in bringing near an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 15:14 ‘And when a stranger sojourns with you, or whoever is among you throughout your generations, and would make an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, as you do, so he does.
Num 15:15 ‘One law is for you of the assembly and for the stranger who sojourns with you – a law forever throughout your generations. As you are, so is the stranger before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 15:16 ‘One Thurah and one right-ruling is for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you.’ ”
Num 15:17 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 15:18 “Speak to the children of Yashara'Al, and say to them, ‘When you come into the land to which I bring you,
Num 15:19 then it shall be, when you eat of the bread of the land, that you present a contribution to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 15:20 ‘Present a cake of the first of your dough as a contribution – as a contribution of the threshing-floor you present it.
Num 15:21 ‘Of the first of your dough you are to give to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 a contribution throughout your generations.
Num 15:22 ‘And when you sin by mistake, and do not do all these commands which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has spoken to Mashah,
Num 15:23 all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has commanded you by the hand of Mashah, from the day 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 gave command and onward throughout your generations,
Num 15:24 then it shall be, if it is done by mistake, without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall prepare one young bull as a burnt offering, as a sweet fragrance to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, with its grain offering and its drink offering, according to the right-ruling, and one male goat as a sin offering.
Num 15:25 ‘Then the priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the children of Yashara'Al, and it shall be forgiven them, for it was by mistake. And they shall bring their offering, an offering made by fire to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and their sin offering before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, for their mistake.
Num 15:26 ‘And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of the children of Yashara'Al and the stranger who sojourns in their midst, because all the people did it by mistake.
Num 15:27 ‘And if a being sins by mistake, then he shall bring a female goat a year old as a sin offering.
Num 15:28 ‘And the priest shall make atonement for the being who strays by mistake, when he sins by mistake before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, to make atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him.
Num 15:29 ‘For him who does whatever by mistake there is one Thurah, both for him who is native among the children of Yashara'Al and for the stranger who sojourns in their midst.
Num 15:30 ‘But the being who does whatever defiantly, whether he is native or a stranger, he reviles 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and that being shall be cut off from among his people.
Num 15:31 ‘Because he has despised the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and has broken His command, that being shall certainly be cut off, his crookedness is upon him.’ ”
Num 15:32 And while the children of Yashara'Al were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Shabath day.
Num 15:33 And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Mashah and to Aharan, and to all the congregation.
Num 15:34 And they put him in under guard, because it had not been declared what should be done to him.
Num 15:35 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Mashah, “The man shall certainly be put to death, all the congregation stoning him with stones outside the camp.”
Num 15:36 And all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded Mashah, and he died.
Num 15:37 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 15:38 “Speak to the children of Yashara'Al, and you shall say to them to make tsiytsath on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue cord in the tsiytsath of the corners.
Num 15:39 “And it shall be to you for a tsiytsath, and you shall see it, and shall remember all the commands of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 and shall do them, and not search after your own heart and your own eyes after which you went whoring,
Num 15:40 so that you remember, and shall do all My commands, and be set-apart unto your Alahiym.
Num 15:41 “I am 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahiym, who brought you out of the land of Matsriym, to be your Alahiym. I am 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahiym.”
Num 16:1 And Qarach, son of Yatshar, son of Qahath, son of Luiy, took both Dathan and Abiyram the sons of Aliyab, and A'un, son of Phalath, sons of Ra'uban,
Num 16:2 and they rose up before Mashah with some of the children of Yashara'Al, two hundred and fifty leaders of the congregation, called ones of the meeting, men of name.
Num 16:3 And they assembled against Mashah and against Aharan, and said to them, “Enough of you! For all the congregation is set-apart, all of them, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 is in their midst. Why then do you lift up yourselves above the assembly of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 ?”
Num 16:4 And when Mashah heard, he fell on his face,
Num 16:5 and spoke to Qarach and all his company, saying, “Tomorrow morning 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 shall make known who is His and who is set-apart, and bring him near to Him. And let Him bring near to Him the one whom He chooses.
Num 16:6 “Do this: Take fire holders, Qarach and all your company,
Num 16:7 and put fire in them and put incense in them before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 tomorrow. And it shall be that the one whom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 chooses is the set-apart one. Enough of you, sons of Luiy!”
Num 16:8 And Mashah said to Qarach, “Hear now, you sons of Luiy:
Num 16:9 “Is it little to you that the Alahiym of Yashara'Al has separated you from the congregation of Yashara'Al, to bring you near to Himself, to perform the service of the Dwelling Place of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and to stand before the congregation to serve them,
Num 16:10 and that He has brought you near to Himself, you and all your brothers, the sons of Luiy, with you? Yet you seek the priesthood as well?
Num 16:11 “Therefore you and all your company are set against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄. And Aharan, what is he that you grumble against him?”
Num 16:12 And Mashah sent to call Dathan and Abiyram the sons of Aliyab, but they said, “We are not coming up!
Num 16:13 “Is it little that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you would also seize total rule over us?
Num 16:14 “Also, you have not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards. Would you bore out the eyes of these men? We are not coming up!”
Num 16:15 And Mashah became very displeased, and said to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, “Do not respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them, nor have I done harm to any of them.”
Num 16:16 Then Mashah said to Qarach, “Tomorrow, you and all your company shall be there before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, you and they and Aharan.
Num 16:17 “And take each one his fire holder, and you shall put incense in it. And let each one bring his fire holder before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, two hundred and fifty fire holders, and you and Aharan, each one with his fire holder.”
Num 16:18 So each one took his fire holder, and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and stood at the door of the Tent of Meeting with Mashah and Aharan.
Num 16:19 And Qarach assembled all the congregation against them at the door of the Tent of Meeting. Then the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 appeared to all the congregation.
Num 16:20 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, and to Aharan, saying,
Num 16:21 “Separate yourselves from the midst of this congregation, and let Me consume them in a moment.”
Num 16:22 But they fell on their faces, and said, “O Al, Alahiym of the spirits of all flesh! When one man sins, are You wroth with all the congregation?”
Num 16:23 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 16:24 “Speak to the congregation, saying, ‘Move away from around the tents of Qarach, Dathan, and Abiyram.’ ”
Num 16:25 So Mashah rose up and went to Dathan and Abiyram, and the elders of Yashara'Al followed him.
Num 16:26 And he spoke to the congregation, saying, “Please turn away from the tents of these wrong men! Do not touch whatever belongs to them, lest you be consumed in all their sins.”
Num 16:27 Then they moved away from around the tents of Qarach, Dathan, and Abiyram. And Dathan and Abiyram came out and stood at the door of their tents, with their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
Num 16:28 And Mashah said, “By this you know that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has sent me to do all these works, that they are not from my own heart.
Num 16:29 “If these die as all men do, or if they are visited as all men are visited, then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has not sent me.
Num 16:30 “But if 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 creates what is unheard of, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the grave, then you shall know that these men have scorned 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.”
Num 16:31 And it came to be, as he ended speaking all these words, that the ground under them split apart,
Num 16:32 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the men with Qarach, with all their goods.
Num 16:33 So they and all those with them went down alive into the grave, and the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly.
Num 16:34 And all Yashara'Al who were round about them fled at their cry, for they said, “Lest the earth swallow us up!”
Num 16:35 And a fire came out from 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 and consumed the two hundred and fifty men who were offering incense.
Num 16:36 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 16:37 “Say to Al'auzar, son of Aharan the priest, to pick up the fire holders out of the blaze, for they are set-apart, and scatter the fire some distance away.
Num 16:38 “The fire holders of these men who sinned against their own lives, let them be made into beaten plates as a covering for the altar. Because they brought them before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, therefore they are set-apart. And let them become a sign to the children of Yashara'Al.”
Num 16:39 And Al'auzar the priest took the bronze fire holders, which those who were burned up had brought, and they were beaten out as a covering on the altar –
Num 16:40 a remembrance to the children of Yashara'Al that no stranger who is not of the seed of Aharan, should come near to offer incense before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and not be like Qarach and his company – as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had said to him through Mashah.
Num 16:41 But all the congregation of the children of Yashara'Al grumbled against Mashah and against Aharan on the next day, saying, “You, you have killed the people of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.”
Num 16:42 And it came to be, when the congregation assembled against Mashah and against Aharan, that they turned toward the Tent of Meeting. And see, the cloud covered it, and the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 appeared.
Num 16:43 And Mashah and Aharan came before the Tent of Meeting.
Num 16:44 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 16:45 “Arise from amidst this congregation, and let Me consume them in a moment.” And they fell on their faces.
Num 16:46 So Mashah said to Aharan, “Take the fire holder and put fire in it from the altar, and lay incense on, and go, hurry to the congregation and make atonement for them, for wrath has gone out from 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, the plague has begun.”
Num 16:47 And Aharan took it as Mashah commanded, and ran into the midst of the assembly, and saw that the plague had begun among the people. And he laid on the incense and made atonement for the people,
Num 16:48 and stood between the dead and the living. And the plague was stopped.
Num 16:49 And those who died in the plague were fourteen thousand seven hundred, besides those who died on account of Qarach.
Num 16:50 Then Aharan returned to Mashah at the door of the Tent of Meeting, for the plague had stopped.
Num 17:1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 17:2 “Speak to the children of Yashara'Al, and take from them a rod from each father’s house, all their leaders according to their fathers’ houses, twelve rods. Write each one’s name on his rod,
Num 17:3 and write Aharan’s name on the rod of Luiy, for there is one rod for the head of each father’s house.
Num 17:4 “You shall then place them in the Tent of Meeting before the Witness, where I meet with you.
Num 17:5 “And it shall be that the rod of the man whom I choose buds, and I shall rid Myself of the grumblings of the children of Yashara'Al, which they grumble against you.”
Num 17:6 And Mashah spoke to the children of Yashara'Al, and all their leaders gave him a rod each, for each leader according to their fathers’ houses, twelve rods. And the rod of Aharan was among their rods.
Num 17:7 So Mashah placed the rods before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 in the Tent of the Witness.
Num 17:8 And it came to be on the next day that Mashah went into the Tent of the Witness and saw that the rod of Aharan, of the house of Luiy, had budded, and brought forth buds, and blossomed and bore ripe almonds.
Num 17:9 And Mashah brought out all the rods from before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 to all the children of Yashara'Al. And they looked, and each man took his rod.
Num 17:10 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Mashah, “Bring Aharan’s rod back before the Witness, to be kept as a sign against the rebels, so that you put an end to their grumblings against Me, lest they die.”
Num 17:11 And Mashah did as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded him, so he did.
Num 17:12 And the children of Yashara'Al spoke to Mashah, saying, “See, we shall die, we shall perish, we shall all perish!
Num 17:13 “Anyone who comes near the Dwelling Place of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 dies. Shall we be consumed – to die?”
Num 18:1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Aharan, “You and your sons and your father’s house with you are to bear the crookedness against the set-apart place, and you and your sons with you are to bear the crookedness against your priesthood.
Num 18:2 “But bring with you your brothers of the tribe of Luiy too, the tribe of your father to join you and serve you while you and your sons are with you before the Tent of the Witness.
Num 18:3 “And they shall guard your charge, and the duty of all the Tent, but they do not come near the furnishings of the set-apart place and the altar, lest they die, both they and you.
Num 18:4 “And they shall be joined with you and guard the duty to the Tent of Meeting, for all the service of the Tent, but a stranger does not come near you.
Num 18:5 “And you shall guard the duty of the set-apart place and the duty of the altar, so that there be no more wrath on the children of Yashara'Al.
Num 18:6 “And see, I Myself have taken your brothers the Luiym from the midst of the children of Yashara'Al – a gift to you, given by 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, to do the service of the Tent of Meeting.
Num 18:7 “But you and your sons with you are to guard your priesthood for all matters at the altar and behind the veil, and you shall serve. I have given you the priesthood as a gift for service, but the stranger who comes near is put to death.”
Num 18:8 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Aharan, “And see, I Myself have also given you the charge of My contributions, all the set-apart gifts of the children of Yashara'Al. I have given them to you for the anointing, and to your sons, as a law forever.
Num 18:9 “This is yours of the most set-apart gifts, from the fire: all their offerings, all their grain offerings and all their sin offerings and all their guilt offerings which they render to Me, are most set-apart for you and your sons.
Num 18:10 “Eat it in the most set-apart place – every male eats it. It is set-apart to you.
Num 18:11 “This also is yours: the contribution of their gift, with all the wave offerings of the children of Yashara'Al. I have given them to you, and your sons and daughters with you, as a law forever. Everyone who is clean in your house eats it.
Num 18:12 “All the best of the oil, and all the best of the new wine and the grain – their first-fruits which they give to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 – I have given them to you.
Num 18:13 “The first-fruits of all that is in their land, which they bring to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, are yours. Everyone who is clean in your house eats it.
Num 18:14 “All that is dedicated in Yashara'Al is yours.
Num 18:15 “Everyone opening a womb of all flesh, which they bring to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, whether man or beast, is yours. But the first-born of man you shall certainly ransom, and the first-born of the unclean beast you ransom.
Num 18:16 “And ransom their ransomed ones when one month old, according to your valuation, five shaqals of silver, according to the shaqal of the set-apart place, which is twenty garahs.
Num 18:17 “But the first-born of a cow, or the first-born of a sheep, or the first-born of a goat you do not ransom, they are set-apart. Sprinkle their blood on the altar, and burn their fat as an offering made by fire for a sweet fragrance to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 18:18 “And their flesh is yours, as the wave breast and as the right thigh, it is yours.
Num 18:19 “All the contributions of the set-apart gifts, which the children of Yashara'Al present to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, I have given to you and your sons and daughters with you as a law forever. It is a covenant of salt forever before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 with you and your seed with you.”
Num 18:20 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Aharan, “You are not to have an inheritance in their land, nor have any portion in their midst. I am your portion and your inheritance among the children of Yashara'Al.
Num 18:21 “And see, I have given the children of Luiy all the tithes in Yashara'Al as an inheritance in return for the service which they are serving, the service of the Tent of Meeting.
Num 18:22 “And let the children of Yashara'Al no more come near the Tent of Meeting, lest they bear sin and die,
Num 18:23 because the Luiym shall do the service of the Tent of Meeting, so they themselves bear their crookedness. A law forever, throughout your generations: that among the children of Yashara'Al they are to have no inheritance,
Num 18:24 but the tithes of the children of Yashara'Al, which they present as a contribution to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, I have given to the Luiym as an inheritance. That is why I have said to them, ‘Among the children of Yashara'Al they have no inheritance.’ ”
Num 18:25 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 18:26 “Speak to the Luiym and say to them, ‘When you take from the children of Yashara'Al the tithes which I have given you from them as your inheritance, then you shall present a contribution of it to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, a tenth of the tithe.
Num 18:27 ‘And your contribution shall be reckoned to you as grain from the threshing-floor and as filling from the winepress.
Num 18:28 ‘Thus you also present a contribution unto 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 from all your tithes which you receive from the children of Yashara'Al. And you shall give from it the contribution to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 to Aharan the priest.
Num 18:29 ‘From all your gifts you present every contribution due to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, from all the best of them, the set-apart part of them.’
Num 18:30 “And you shall say to them, ‘When you have presented the best of it, then the rest shall be reckoned to the Luiym as the yield of the threshing-floor and as the yield of the winepress.
Num 18:31 ‘And you shall eat it in any place, you and your households, for it is your reward for your service in the Tent of Meeting,
Num 18:32 and bear no sin because of it, when you have presented the best of it, and do not profane the set-apart gifts of the children of Yashara'Al, lest you die.’ ”
Num 19:1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah and to Aharan, saying,
Num 19:2 “This is a law of the Thurah which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has commanded, saying, ‘Speak to the children of Yashara'Al, that they bring you a red heifer, a perfect one, in which there is no blemish and on which a yoke has never come.
Num 19:3 ‘And you shall give it to Al'auzar the priest, and he shall bring it outside the camp, and shall slaughter it before him.
Num 19:4 ‘And Al'auzar the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, and sprinkle some of its blood seven times toward the front of the Tent of Meeting.
Num 19:5 ‘And the heifer shall be burned before his eyes – he burns its hide, and its flesh, and its blood, and its dung.
Num 19:6 ‘And the priest shall take cedar wood and hyssop and scarlet, and throw them into the midst of the fire burning the heifer.
Num 19:7 ‘The priest shall then wash his garments, and shall bathe his body in water, and afterward come into the camp, but the priest is unclean until evening.
Num 19:8 ‘And he who is burning it washes his garments in water, and shall bathe his body in water, and is unclean until evening.
Num 19:9 ‘And a clean man shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and shall place them outside the camp in a clean place. And they shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Yashara'Al for the water for uncleanness, it is for cleansing from sin.
Num 19:10 ‘And he who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his garments, and is unclean until evening. And it shall be a law forever to the children of Yashara'Al and to the stranger who sojourns in their midst.
Num 19:11 ‘He who touches the dead of any human being is unclean for seven days.
Num 19:12 ‘He is to cleanse himself with the water on the third day, and on the seventh day he is clean. But if he does not cleanse himself on the third day, then on the seventh day he is not clean.
Num 19:13 ‘Anyone who touches the dead of a human being, and does not cleanse himself, defiles the Dwelling Place of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄. And that being shall be cut off from Yashara'Al. He is unclean, for the water for uncleanness was not sprinkled on him, his uncleanness is still upon him.
Num 19:14 ‘This is the Thurah when a man dies in a tent: All who come into the tent and all who are in the tent are unclean for seven days,
Num 19:15 and every open vessel which has no cover fastened on it, is unclean.
Num 19:16 ‘Anyone in the open field who touches someone slain by a sword or who has died, or a bone of a man, or a grave, is unclean for seven days.
Num 19:17 ‘And for the unclean being they shall take some of the ashes of the heifer burnt for cleansing from sin, and running water shall be put on them in a vessel.
Num 19:18 ‘And a clean man shall take hyssop and dip it in the water, and shall sprinkle it on the tent, and on all the vessels, and on the beings who were there, or on the one who touched a bone, or the slain, or the dead, or a grave.
Num 19:19 ‘And the clean one shall sprinkle the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day. And on the seventh day he shall cleanse himself, and shall wash his garments and bathe in water, and shall be clean in the evening.
Num 19:20 ‘But the man who is unclean and does not cleanse himself, that being shall be cut off from among the assembly, because he has defiled the set-apart place of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 – water for uncleanness has not been sprinkled on him, he is unclean.
Num 19:21 ‘And it shall be a law for them forever. And the one who sprinkles the water for uncleanness washes his garments. And the one who touches the water for uncleanness is unclean until evening.
Num 19:22 ‘And whatever the unclean being touches is unclean. And the being who touches it is unclean until evening.’ ”
Num 20:1 And the children of Yashara'Al, all the congregation, came into the Wilderness of Tsan in the first month, and the people stayed in Qadash. And Mariym died there and was buried there.
Num 20:2 Now there was no water for the congregation and they assembled against Mashah and against Aharan.
Num 20:3 And the people contended with Mashah and spoke, saying, “If only we had died when our brothers died before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 !
Num 20:4 “Why have you brought up the assembly of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 into this wilderness, that we and our livestock should die here?
Num 20:5 “And why have you brought us up out of Matsriym, to bring us to this evil place? – not a place of grain or figs or vines or pomegranates, and there is no water to drink.”
Num 20:6 Then Mashah and Aharan went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and they fell on their faces. And the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 appeared to them.
Num 20:7 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 20:8 “Take the rod and assemble the congregation, you and your brother Aharan. And you shall speak to the rock before their eyes, and it shall give its water. And you shall bring water for them out of the rock and give drink to the congregation and their livestock.”
Num 20:9 And Mashah took the rod from before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 as He commanded him.
Num 20:10 And Mashah and Aharan assembled the assembly before the rock. And he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels, shall we bring water for you out of this rock?”
Num 20:11 Then Mashah lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod. And much water came out, and the congregation and their livestock drank.
Num 20:12 But 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah and to Aharan, “Because you did not believe Me, to set Me apart in the eyes of the children of Yashara'Al, therefore you do not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”
Num 20:13 These were the waters of Maribah, because the children of Yashara'Al contended with 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and He was set apart among them.
Num 20:14 And Mashah sent messengers from Qadash to the sovereign of Adum. “This is what your brother Yashara'Al said, ‘You know all the hardship that has befallen us,
Num 20:15 that our fathers went down to Matsriymah, and we dwelt in Matsriym a long time, and the Matsriym did evil to us and our fathers.
Num 20:16 ‘And we cried out to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and He heard our voice and sent the Messenger and brought us up out of Matsriym. And see, we are in Qadash, a city on the edge of your border.
Num 20:17 ‘Please let us pass over, through your land. We shall not pass over through fields or vineyards, nor drink water from wells, we shall go along the sovereign’s highway. We shall not turn aside, right or left, until we have passed over your border.’ ”
Num 20:18 But Adum said to him, “You do not pass over through me, lest I come out against you with the sword.”
Num 20:19 And the children of Yashara'Al said to him, “We shall go by the highway, and if I or my livestock drink any of your water, then I shall pay for it. Let me only pass over on foot, without a word.”
Num 20:20 But he said, “You do not pass over.” And Adum came out against them with many men and with a strong hand.
Num 20:21 So when Adum refused to let Yashara'Al pass over through his border, Yashara'Al turned away from him.
Num 20:22 And the children of Yashara'Al, all the company, departed from Qadash and came to Mount Har.
Num 20:23 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah and to Aharan in Mount Har near the border of the land of Adum, saying,
Num 20:24 “Aharan is to be gathered to his people, for he is not to enter the land which I have given to the children of Yashara'Al, because you rebelled against My mouth at the water of Maribah.
Num 20:25 “Take Aharan and Al'auzar his son, and bring them up to Mount Har,
Num 20:26 and strip Aharan of his garments and put them on Al'auzar his son, for Aharan is to be gathered to his people and die there.”
Num 20:27 And Mashah did as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded, and they went up to Mount Har before the eyes of all the congregation.
Num 20:28 And Mashah stripped Aharan of his garments and put them on Al'auzar his son. And Aharan died there on the top of the mountain. And Mashah and Al'auzar came down from the mountain.
Num 20:29 And when all the congregation saw that Aharan was dead, all the house of Yashara'Al wept for Aharan, thirty days.
Num 21:1 And the sovereign of Aurad, the Kana'auniy, who dwelt in the South, heard that Yashara'Al was coming on the way to Athariym, and he fought against Yashara'Al and took some of them captive.
Num 21:2 Then Yashara'Al made a vow to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and said, “If You deliver this people into my hand indeed, then I shall put their cities under the ban.”
Num 21:3 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 listened to the voice of Yashara'Al and gave up the Kana'auniy, and they put them and their cities under the ban. So the name of that place was called Charmah.
Num 21:4 And they departed from Mount Har by the Way of the Sea of Reeds, to go around the land of Adum. But the being of the people grew impatient because of the way.
Num 21:5 And the people spoke against Alahiym and against Mashah, “Why have you brought us up out of Matsriym to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our being loathes this light bread.”
Num 21:6 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people. And many of the people of Yashara'Al died.
Num 21:7 Then the people came to Mashah, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 and against you. Pray to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 to take away the serpents from us.” So Mashah prayed on behalf of the people.
Num 21:8 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Mashah, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole. And it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.”
Num 21:9 So Mashah made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole. And it came to be, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.
Num 21:10 And the children of Yashara'Al set out and camped in Abath.
Num 21:11 And they departed from Abath and camped at Aui'iy Ha-Aubariym, in the wilderness which is east of Mu'ab, toward sunrise.
Num 21:12 From there they set out and camped at the valley Zarad.
Num 21:13 From there they set out and camped on the other side of the Arnun, which is in the wilderness that extends from the border of the Amariy, for the Arnun is the border of Mu'ab, between Mu'ab and the Amariy.
Num 21:14 Therefore it is said in the Book of the Battles of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, “U'hab in Suphah, the valley Arnun,
Num 21:15 and the slope of the valley that turns aside to the dwelling of Aur, and lies on the border of Mu'ab.”
Num 21:16 And from there on to Bar, which is the well where 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Mashah, “Gather the people, and let Me give them water.”
Num 21:17 Yashara'Al then sang this song: “Spring up, O well! Sing to it,
Num 21:18 a well the leaders sank, which the nobles of the people dug with their staves, by the word of the Inscriber.” And from the wilderness on to Mathanah,
Num 21:19 from Mathanah to Nachaliy'Al, from Nachaliy'Al to Bamuth,
Num 21:20 and from Bamuth, in the valley that is in the country of Mu'ab, to the top of Phasgah which looks down on the wasteland.
Num 21:21 And Yashara'Al sent messengers to Sichan sovereign of the Amariy, saying,
Num 21:22 “Let me pass through your land. We shall not turn off into fields or vineyards, we shall not drink water from wells, but go by the sovereign’s highway until we have passed over your border.”
Num 21:23 But Sichan would not allow Yashara'Al to pass through his border. So Sichan gathered all his people together and went out against Yashara'Al in the wilderness, and he came to Yahats and fought against Yashara'Al.
Num 21:24 And Yashara'Al smote him with the edge of the sword, and took possession of his land from the Arnan to the Yabaq, as far as the children of Aumun, for the border of the children of Aumun was strong.
Num 21:25 And Yashara'Al took all these cities, and Yashara'Al dwelt in all the cities of the Amariy – in Chashbun and in all its villages,
Num 21:26 for Chashbun was the city of Sichan the sovereign of the Amariy, who had fought against the former sovereign of Mu'ab, and had taken all his land from his hand as far as the Arnun.
Num 21:27 That is why those who speak in proverbs say, “Come to Chashbun, let the city of Sichun be built and established.
Num 21:28 “For fire went out from Chashbun, a flame from the city of Sichan. It consumed Ar of Mu'ab, the masters of the heights of the Arnan.
Num 21:29 “Woe to you, Mu'ab! You have perished, O people of Kamush! He has given his sons as fugitives, and his daughters into captivity, to Sichun the sovereign of the Amariy.
Num 21:30 “Then we shot them – Chashbun has perished as far as Diban. And we laid waste as far as Naphach, which reaches to Miydaba.”
Num 21:31 So Yashara'Al dwelt in the land of the Amariy.
Num 21:32 And Mashah sent to spy out Yau‛zar. And they took its villages and drove out the Amariy who were there,
Num 21:33 and turned and went up by the way to Bashan. And Au'ug sovereign of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people, to battle at Adrauiy.
Num 21:34 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Mashah, “Do not fear him, for I have given him into your hand, with all his people and his land. And you shall do to him as you did to Sichan sovereign of the Amariy, who dwelt at Chashbun.”
Num 21:35 And they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until no remnant was left to him. And they took possession of his land.
Num 22:1 And the children of Yashara'Al set out and camped in the desert plains of Mu'ab beyond the Yardan of Yarachu.
Num 22:1 And the children of Yashar'Al set out and camped in the desert plains of Mu'ab beyond the Yardan of Yarachu.
Num 22:2 And Balaq son of Tsaphur saw all that Yashara'Al had done to the Amariy.
Num 22:3 And Mu'ab was exceedingly afraid of the people because they were many, and Mu'ab was in dread because of the children of Yashara'Al.
Num 22:4 And Mu'ab said to the elders of Madyan, “Now this company is licking up all that is around us, as an ox licks up the grass of the field.” Now Balaq son of Tsaphur was sovereign of the Mu'abiy at that time,
Num 22:5 and he sent messengers to Bal'aum son of Bau'ur at Phathurah, which is near the River in the land of the sons of his people, to call him, saying, “See, a people has come from Matsriym. See, they have covered the surface of the land, and are settling next to me!
Num 22:6 “And now, please come at once, curse this people for me, for they are too strong for me. It might be that I smite them and drive them out of the land, for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.”
Num 22:7 And the elders of Mu'ab and the elders of Madyan left with the fees for qasmiym in their hand, and they came to Bal'aum and spoke the words of Balaq to him.
Num 22:8 And he said to them, “Spend the night here, and I shall bring back word to you, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 speaks to me.” So the heads of Mu'ab stayed with Bal'aum.
Num 22:9 And Alahiym came to Bal'aum and said, “Who are these men with you?”
Num 22:10 And Bal'aum said to Alahiym, “Balaq, son of Tsaphar, sovereign of Mu'ab, has sent to me, saying,
Num 22:11 ‘See, a people has come out of Matsriym and cover the surface of the land. Come now, curse them for me. It might be that I am able to fight against them and drive them out.’ ”
Num 22:12 And Alahiym said to Bal'aum, “Do not go with them. You do not curse the people, for they are blessed.”
Num 22:13 And Bal'aum rose in the morning and said to the heads of Balaq, “Go back to your land, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has refused to allow me to go with you.”
Num 22:14 And the heads of Mu'ab arose and went to Balaq, and said, “Bal'aum refuses to come with us.”
Num 22:15 Then Balaq again sent heads, more numerous and more esteemed than they.
Num 22:16 And they came to Bal'aum and said to him, “This is what Balaq son of Tsaphur said: ‘Do not be withheld from coming to me, please,
Num 22:17 for I esteem you very greatly, and whatever you say to me, I do. Therefore please come, curse this people for me.’ ”
Num 22:18 And Bal'aum answered and said to the servants of Balaq, “Though Balaq were to give me his house filled with silver and gold, I am unable to go beyond the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 my Alahiym, to do less or more.
Num 22:19 “And now, please, you also stay here tonight, and let me find out what more 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 says to me.”
Num 22:20 And Alahiym came to Bal'aum at night and said to him, “If the men come to call you, rise and go with them, but only the word which I speak to you that you do.”
Num 22:21 And Bal'aum rose in the morning and saddled his donkey, and went with the heads of Mu'ab.
Num 22:22 But the displeasure of Alahiym burned because he went, and the Messenger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 stationed Himself in the way as an adversary against him. And he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him.
Num 22:23 And the donkey saw the Messenger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, and the donkey turned aside out of the way and went into the field. So Bal'aum beat the donkey to turn her back onto the way.
Num 22:24 Then the Messenger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 stood in a narrow passage between the vineyards, with a wall on this side and a wall on that side.
Num 22:25 And when the donkey saw the Messenger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, she pushed herself against the wall and crushed Bal'aum’s foot against the wall, so he beat her again.
Num 22:26 And the Messenger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 went further, and stood in a narrow place where there was no way to turn aside, right or left.
Num 22:27 And when the donkey saw the Messenger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, she lay down under Bal'aum. So Bal'aum’s displeasure burned, and he beat the donkey with his staff.
Num 22:28 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Bal'aum, “What have I done to you, that you have beaten me these three times?”
Num 22:29 And Bal'aum said to the donkey, “Because you have mocked me. I wish there were a sword in my hand, for I would have killed you by now!”
Num 22:30 And the donkey said to Bal'aum, “Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden, ever since I became yours, to this day? Was I ever known to do so to you?” And he said, “No.”
Num 22:31 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 opened Bal'aum’s eyes, and he saw the Messenger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand. And he bowed his head and fell on his face.
Num 22:32 And the Messenger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to him, “Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? See, I have come out to stand against you, because your way is reckless before Me.
Num 22:33 “And the donkey saw Me and turned aside from Me these three times. If she had not turned aside from Me, I certainly would have killed you by now, and let her live.”
Num 22:34 And Bal'aum said to the Messenger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, “I have sinned, for I did not know You stood in the way against me. And now, if evil is in Your eyes, let me turn back.”
Num 22:35 And the Messenger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Bal'aum, “Go with the men, but only the word that I speak to you, that you speak.” Bal'aum then went with the heads of Balaq.
Num 22:36 And when Balaq heard that Bal'aum was coming, he went out to meet him at the city of Mu'ab, which is on the border at the Arnan, which was in the extremity of the border.
Num 22:37 And Balaq said to Bal'aum, “Did I not urgently send to you, calling for you? Why did you not come to me? Am I not able to esteem you?”
Num 22:38 And Bal'aum said to Balaq, “See, I have come to you! Now, am I at all able to say somewhat? The word that Alahiym puts in my mouth, that I speak.”
Num 22:39 And Bal'aum went with Balaq, and they came to Qariyth Chatsuth.
Num 22:40 And Balaq slaughtered cattle and sheep, and he sent some to Bal'aum and to the heads who were with him.
Num 22:41 And it came to be the next day, that Balaq took Bal'aum and brought him up to the high places of Ba'aul, and from there he saw the extremity of the camp.
Num 23:1 And Bal'aum said to Balaq, “Build seven altars for me here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me here.”
Num 23:2 And Balaq did as Bal'aum had spoken, and Balaq and Bal'aum offered a bull and a ram on each altar.
Num 23:3 Bal'aum then said to Balaq, “Stand by your burnt offering, and let me go on. It might be that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 does come to meet me, and whatever He shows me I shall declare to you.” And he went to a bare height.
Num 23:4 And Alahiym came to Bal'aum, and he said to Him, “I have prepared the seven altars, and I have offered on each altar a bull and a ram.”
Num 23:5 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 put a word in the mouth of Bal'aum, and said, “Return to Balaq, and this is what you say.”
Num 23:6 And he returned to him and saw him standing by his burnt offering, he and all the heads of Mu'ab.
Num 23:7 And he took up his proverb and said, “Balaq the sovereign of Mu'ab has brought me from Aram, from the mountains of the east. ‘Come, curse Ya'auqab for me, and come, rage at Yashara'Al!’
Num 23:8 “How do I curse whom Al has not cursed? And how do I rage at whom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has not raged?
Num 23:9 “For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I observe him. Look, a people dwelling alone, not reckoning itself among the nations.
Num 23:10 “Who shall count the dust of Ya'auqab, and the number of one-fourth of Yashara'Al? Let me die the death of the upright, and let my end be like his!”
Num 23:11 And Balaq said to Bal'aum, “What have you done to me? I took you to curse my enemies, and look, you have kept on blessing!”
Num 23:12 And he answered and said, “Should I not take heed to speak what 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has put in my mouth?”
Num 23:13 And Balaq said to him, “Please come with me to another place from where you see them. You only see the extremity but not all of them. Curse them for me from there.”
Num 23:14 And he took him to the field of Tsaphiym, to the top of Phasgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.
Num 23:15 And he said to Balaq, “Stand here by your burnt offering while I meet over there.”
Num 23:16 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 came to Bal'aum, and put a word in his mouth, and said, “Go back to Balaq, and say this.”
Num 23:17 So he went to him and saw him standing by his burnt offering, and the heads of Mu'ab with him. And Balaq asked him, “What did 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 say?”
Num 23:18 And he took up his proverb and said, “Rise up, Balaq, and hear! Listen to me, son of Tsaphar!
Num 23:19 “Al is not a man, to lie; nor a son of man, to repent! Has He said, and would He not do it; or spoken, and would not confirm it?
Num 23:20 “See, I have received, to bless. And He has blessed, and I do not reverse it.
Num 23:21 “He has not looked upon wickedness in Ya'auqab, nor has He seen trouble in Yashara'Al. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 his Alahiym is with him, and the shout of a Sovereign is in him.
Num 23:22 “Al who brought them out of Matsriym, is for them like the horns of a wild ox.
Num 23:23 “For there is no sorcery against Ya'auqab, nor is there any qasmiym against Yashara'Al. Now it is said to Ya'auqab and to Yashara'Al, ‘What has Al done!’
Num 23:24 “Look, a people rises like a lioness, and lifts itself up like a lion; it lies not down until it devours the prey, and drinks the blood of the slain.”
Num 23:25 And Balaq said to Bal'aum, “Do not curse them at all, nor bless them at all!”
Num 23:26 And Bal'aum answered and said to Balaq, “Have I not spoken to you, saying, ‘All that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 speaks, that I do’?”
Num 23:27 And Balaq said to Bal'aum, “Please come, let me take you to another place. It might be right in the eyes of Alahiym that you curse them for me from there.”
Num 23:28 And Balaq took Bal'aum to the top of Phau'ur, that overlooks the wasteland.
Num 23:29 And Bal'aum said to Balaq, “Build seven alters for me here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me here.”
Num 23:30 And Balaq did as Bal'aum had said, and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.
Num 24:1 And when Bal'aum saw that it pleased 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 to bless Yashara'Al, he did not go as at other times, to seek to use sorcery, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
Num 24:2 And Bal'aum lifted up his eyes and saw Yashara'Al encamped according to their tribes. And the Spirit of Alahiym came upon him.
Num 24:3 And he took up his proverb and said, “The saying of Bal'aum, son of Bau'ur, and the saying of the man whose eyes are opened,
Num 24:4 the saying of him who hears the words of Al, who sees the vision of the Almighty, who falls down, with eyes opened wide:
Num 24:5 “How good are your tents, O Ya'auqab, your dwellings, O Yashara'Al!
Num 24:6 “Like valleys that stretch out, like gardens by a river, like aloes planted by 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, like cedars beside waters.
Num 24:7 “He makes water flow from his buckets, and his seed is in many waters. His sovereign is higher than Agag, and his reign is exalted.
Num 24:8 “Al who brought him out of Matsriym is for them like the horns of a wild ox; he devours nations, his enemies; and he breaks their bones, and with his arrows he smites.
Num 24:9 “He bowed down, he lay down like a lion. And, like a lion, who would rouse him? Blessed is he who blesses you, and cursed is he who curses you.”
Num 24:10 Then the displeasure of Balaq burned against Bal'aum, and he struck his hands together. Balaq then said to Bal'aum, “I summoned you to curse my enemies, and see, you have kept on blessing, these three times!
Num 24:11 “And now flee to your place. I said I would greatly esteem you, and see, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has kept you back from esteem.”
Num 24:12 And Bal'aum said to Balaq, “Did I not also speak to your messengers whom you sent to me, saying,
Num 24:13 ‘If Balaq should give me his house filled with silver and gold, I am unable to go beyond the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, to do either good or evil of my own heart. What 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 speaks, that I speak’?
Num 24:14 “And now, see, I am going to my people. Come, let me advise you what this people is going to do to your people in the latter days.”
Num 24:15 And he took up his proverb and said, “The saying of Bal'aum, son of Bau'ur, and the saying of the man whose eyes are opened,
Num 24:16 the saying of him who hears the words of Al, and knows the knowledge of the Most High, who sees the vision of the Almighty, who falls down, with eyes opened wide:
Num 24:17 “I see Him, but not now; I observe Him, but not near. A Star shall come out of Ya'auqab, and a Scepter shall rise out of Yashara'Al, and shall smite the corners of Mu'ab, and shall destroy all the sons of Shath.
Num 24:18 “And Adum shall be a possession; and Shau'ir shall be a possession – enemies – and Yashara'Al is doing mightily.
Num 24:19 “And out of Ya'auqab One shall rule and destroy the remnant from Ar.”
Num 24:20 He then looked on Aumalaq, and he took up his proverb and said, “Aumalaq was first among the nations, but his latter end is to perish forever.”
Num 24:21 He then looked on the Qainiy, and he took up his proverb and said, “Firm is your dwelling place, and your nest is set in the rock,
Num 24:22 but Qain is to be burned. Till when does Ashur keep you captive?”
Num 24:23 And he took up his proverb and said, “A'uiy, who does live when Al does this?
Num 24:24 And ships shall come from the coast of Kathiym, and they shall afflict Ashur and afflict Aubar, and he also perishes forever.”
Num 24:25 And Bal'aum arose and left, and returned to his place. And Balaq also went his way.
Num 25:1 And Yashara'Al dwelt in Shatiym, and the people began to whore with the daughters of Mu'ab,
Num 25:2 and they invited the people to the slaughterings of their mighty ones, and the people ate and bowed down to their mighty ones.
Num 25:3 Thus Yashara'Al was joined to Ba'aul Phau'ur, and the displeasure of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 burned against Yashara'Al.
Num 25:4 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Mashah, “Take all the leaders of the people and hang them up before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, before the sun, so that the burning displeasure of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 turns away from Yashara'Al.”
Num 25:5 And Mashah said to the judges of Yashara'Al, “Each one of you slay his men who were joined to Ba'aul Phau'ur.”
Num 25:6 And see, one of the children of Yashara'Al came and brought to his brothers a Madyaniyth woman before the eyes of Mashah and before the eyes of all the congregation of the children of Yashara'Al, who were weeping at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
Num 25:7 And when Phinachas, son of Al'auzar, son of Aharan the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation and took a spear in his hand,
Num 25:8 and he went after the man of Yashara'Al into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Yashara'Al, and the woman through her belly. Thus the plague among the children of Yashara'Al came to a stop.

Num 25:12 “Therefore say, ‘See, I am giving him My covenant of peace,

Num 29:40 And Mashah spoke to the children of Yashara'Al according to all 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Mashah.
Num 30:1 And Mashah spoke to the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Yashara'Al, saying, “This is the word which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has commanded:
Num 30:2 “When a man vows a vow to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, or swears an oath to bind himself by some agreement, he does not break his word, he does according to all that comes out of his mouth.
Num 30:3 “Or if a woman vows a vow to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and binds herself by some agreement while in her father’s house in her youth,
Num 30:4 and her father hears her vow and the agreement by which she has bound herself, and her father has kept silent towards her, then all her vows shall stand, and every agreement with which she has bound herself stands.
Num 30:5 “But if her father forbids her on the day that he hears, then none of her vows nor her agreements by which she has bound herself stand. And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 pardons her, because her father has forbidden her.
Num 30:6 “But if she at all belongs to a husband, while bound by her vows or by a rash utterance from her lips by which she bound herself,
Num 30:7 and her husband hears it, and he has kept silent towards her on the day that he hears, then her vows shall stand, and her agreements by which she bound herself do stand.
Num 30:8 “But if her husband forbids her on the day that he hears it, then he has nullified her vow which she vowed, and the rash utterance of her lips by which she bound herself, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 pardons her.
Num 30:9 “But any vow of a widow or a divorced woman, by which she has bound herself, stands against her.
Num 30:10 “And if she vowed in her husband’s house, or bound herself by an agreement with an oath,
Num 30:11 and her husband heard it, and has kept silent towards her and did not forbid her, then all her vows shall stand, and every agreement by which she bound herself stands.
Num 30:12 “But if her husband clearly nullified them on the day he heard them, then whatever came from her lips concerning her vows or concerning the agreement binding her, it does not stand – her husband has nullified them, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 pardons her.
Num 30:13 “Every vow and every binding oath to afflict her being, let her husband confirm it, or let her husband nullify it.
Num 30:14 “But if her husband is altogether silent at her from day to day, then he confirms all her vows or all the agreements that bind her – he confirms them, because he kept silent towards her on the day that he heard.
Num 30:15 “But if he nullifies them after he has heard, then he shall bear her crookedness.”
Num 30:16 These are the laws which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded Mashah, between a man and his wife, and between a father and his daughter in her youth in her father’s house.
Num 31:1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 31:2 “Take vengeance for the children of Yashara'Al on the Madyaniy. After that you are to be gathered to your people.”
Num 31:3 And Mashah spoke to the people, saying, “Arm some of yourselves for the campaign, and let them go against the Madyaniy to take vengeance for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 on Madyan.
Num 31:4 “Send a thousand from each tribe of all the tribes of Yashara'Al for the campaign.”
Num 31:5 So there were supplied from the tribes of Yashara'Al one thousand from each tribe, twelve thousand armed ones for the campaign.
Num 31:6 And Mashah sent them on the campaign, one thousand from each tribe, them and Phinachas son of Al'auzar the priest on the campaign, with the set-apart utensils and the trumpets for sounding in his hand.
Num 31:7 And they fought against the Madyaniy, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded Mashah, and slew all the males.
Num 31:8 And they slew the sovereigns of Madyan with the rest of those who were pierced: A'uiy, and Raqam, and Tsur, and Chur, and Rabau, the five sovereigns of Madyan. And they slew Bal'aum son of Bau'ur with the sword.
Num 31:9 And the sons of Yashara'Al took all the women of Madyan captive, with their little ones, and took as spoil all their livestock, and all their possessions.
Num 31:10 And they burned with fire all the cities where they dwelt, and all their settlements.
Num 31:11 And they took all the spoil and all the booty, both of man and beast.
Num 31:12 And they brought the captives, and the booty, and the spoil to Mashah, and to Al'auzar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Yashara'Al, to the camp in the desert plains of Mu'ab by the Yardan of Yarachu.
Num 31:13 And Mashah, and Al'auzar the priest, and all the leaders of the congregation, went to meet them outside the camp.
Num 31:14 But Mashah was wroth with the officers of the army, with the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, who had come from the campaign.
Num 31:15 And Mashah said to them, “Have you kept all the women alive?
Num 31:16 “Look, they are the ones who caused the children of Yashara'Al, through the word of Bal'aum, to trespass against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 in the matter of Phau'ur, and there was a plague among the congregation of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 31:17 “And now, slay every male among the little ones. And every woman who has known a man by lying with a man you shall slay.
Num 31:18 “But keep alive for yourselves all the female children who have not known a man by lying with a man.
Num 31:19 “And you, camp outside the camp seven days. Whoever has slain any being, and whoever has touched any slain, cleanse yourselves and your captives on the third day and on the seventh day.
Num 31:20 “And cleanse every garment, and every object of leather and all the work of goats’ hair, and every object of wood.”
Num 31:21 And Al'auzar the priest said to the men of the campaign who went to the battle, “This is the law of the Thurah which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded Mashah:
Num 31:22 “Only the gold, and the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
Num 31:23 every object that passes through fire, you put through the fire, and it shall be clean; only, let it be cleansed with the water for uncleanness. And whatever does not pass through fire you pass through water.
Num 31:24 “And you shall wash your garments on the seventh day and be clean, and afterwards come into the camp.”
Num 31:25 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 31:26 “Count up the plunder that was taken, of man and of beast, you and Al'auzar the priest and the heads of the fathers of the congregation.
Num 31:27 “And you shall divide the plunder into two parts, between those who took part in the battle, who went out on the campaign, and all the congregation.
Num 31:28 “And set aside a levy for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 on the men of battle who went out on the campaign: one out of every five hundred, of man, and of the cattle, and of the donkeys, and of the sheep.
Num 31:29 “Take it from their half, and give it to Al'auzar the priest as a contribution to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 31:30 “And from the children of Yashara'Al’s half you shall take one of every fifty, of man, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the sheep, of all the livestock, and give them to the Luiym guarding the duty of the Dwelling Place of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.”
Num 31:31 And Mashah and Al'auzar the priest did as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded Mashah.
Num 31:32 And the booty remaining from the plunder, which the people of the campaign had taken, was six hundred and seventy-five thousand sheep,
Num 31:33 and seventy-two thousand cattle,
Num 31:34 and sixty-one thousand donkeys,
Num 31:35 and thirty-two thousand human beings in all, of women who had not known a man by lying with a man.
Num 31:36 And the half, the portion for those who went out on the campaign, was in number three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,
Num 31:37 and the levy unto 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 of the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five.
Num 31:38 And the cattle were thirty-six thousand, of which the levy unto 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 was seventy-two.
Num 31:39 And the donkeys were thirty thousand five hundred, of which the levy unto 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 was sixty-one.
Num 31:40 And the human beings were sixteen thousand, of which the levy unto 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 was thirty-two beings.
Num 31:41 So Mashah gave the levy which was the contribution unto 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 to Al'auzar the priest, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded Mashah.
Num 31:42 And from the children of Yashara'Al’s half, which Mashah divided from the men who campaigned:
Num 31:43 now the half belonging to the congregation was three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,
Num 31:44 and thirty-six thousand cattle,
Num 31:45 and thirty thousand five hundred donkeys,
Num 31:46 and sixteen thousand human beings.
Num 31:47 Then Mashah took from the children of Yashara'Al’s half: one out of every fifty, drawn from man and beast, and gave them to the Luiym, who guarded the duty of the Dwelling Place of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded Mashah.
Num 31:48 And the officers who were over thousands of the campaign, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, came near to Mashah,
Num 31:49 and they said to Mashah, “Your servants have taken a count of the fighting men under our command, and not a man of us is missing.
Num 31:50 “So we have brought an offering for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, what every man found of ornaments of gold: armlets and bracelets and signet rings and earrings and necklaces, to make atonement for ourselves before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.”
Num 31:51 And Mashah and Al'auzar the priest received the gold from them, all the fashioned ornaments.
Num 31:52 And all the gold of the offering that they presented to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, from the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shaqals.
Num 31:53 The men of the campaign had taken spoil, every man for himself.
Num 31:54 And Mashah and Al'auzar the priest received the gold from the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the Tent of Meeting as a remembrance for the children of Yashara'Al before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 32:1 And the children of Ra'uban and the children of Gad had much livestock, a large number. And they saw the land of Yau'zar and the land of Gal'aud and saw that the place was a place for livestock.
Num 32:2 So the children of Gad and the children of Ra'uban came and spoke to Mashah, and to Al'auzar the priest, and to the leaders of the congregation, saying,
Num 32:3 “Autaruth, and Diban, and Yau'zar, and Namrah, and Chashbun, and Al'aulah, and Shabam, and Nabu, and Baun,
Num 32:4 the land which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had smitten before the congregation of Yashara'Al, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock.”
Num 32:5 And they said, “If we have found favor in your eyes, let this land be given to your servants as a possession, and do not let us pass over the Yardan.”
Num 32:6 And Mashah said to the children of Gad and to the children of Ra'uban, “Are your brothers to go into the battle while you yourselves sit here?
Num 32:7 “Now why do you discourage the heart of the children of Yashara'Al from passing over into the land which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has given them?
Num 32:8 “Thus your fathers did when I sent them away from Qadash Barnau to see the land.
Num 32:9 “For when they went up to the valley Ashkal and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Yashara'Al, so that they did not go into the land which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had given them.
Num 32:10 “Then the displeasure of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 burned on that day, and He swore an oath, saying,
Num 32:11 ‘Not one of the men who came up from Matsriym, from twenty years old and above, is to see the land of which I swore to Abraham, Yatschaq, and Ya'auqab, because they did not follow Me completely,
Num 32:12 except Kalab son of Yaphanah, the Qanaziy, and Yahusha son of Nun, for they have followed 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 completely.’
Num 32:13 “So the displeasure of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 burned against Yashara'Al, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation that had done evil in the eyes of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 was destroyed.
Num 32:14 “And see, you have risen in your father’s place, an increase of men, sinners, to add still more the burning displeasure of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 against Yashara'Al.
Num 32:15 “For if you turn away from following Him, He shall once again leave them in the wilderness, and you shall destroy all these people.”
Num 32:16 Then they came near to him and said, “Let us build sheep-enclosures here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones,
Num 32:17 but let us ourselves be armed, hastening before the children of Yashara'Al until we have brought them to their place. And our little ones shall dwell in the walled cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
Num 32:18 “We shall not return to our homes until every one of the children of Yashara'Al has received his inheritance.
Num 32:19 “For we shall not inherit with them on the other side of the Yardan and beyond, because our inheritance has fallen to us on this eastern side of the Yardan.”
Num 32:20 And Mashah said to them, “If you make this promise: if you arm yourselves before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 for battle,
Num 32:21 and all your armed ones pass over the Yardan before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 until He has driven out His enemies from before Him,
Num 32:22 and the land has been subdued before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, then afterward you shall return, and be guiltless before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 and before Yashara'Al. And this land shall be your possession before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Num 32:23 “But if you do not do so, then see, you shall sin against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and know: your sin is going to find you out.
Num 32:24 “Build cities for your little ones and enclosures for your sheep, and do what you have promised.”
Num 32:25 And the children of Gad and the children of Ra'uban spoke to Mashah, saying, “Your servants are going to do as my master commands.
Num 32:26 “Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock are going to be there in the cities of Gal'aud,
Num 32:27 but your servants are passing over, every armed one of the army, before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, to battle, as my master says.”
Num 32:28 And Mashah gave command concerning them to Al'auzar the priest, to Yahusha son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Yashara'Al.
Num 32:29 And Mashah said to them, “If the children of Gad and the children of Ra'uban pass over the Yardan with you, every man armed for battle before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and the land has been subdued before you, then you shall give them the land of Gal'aud as a possession.
Num 32:30 “But if they do not pass over armed with you, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Kana'aun.”
Num 32:31 Then the children of Gad and the children of Ra'uban answered, saying, “As 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has said to your servants, so we do.
Num 32:32 “We ourselves are passing over armed before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 into the land of Kana'aun, but the possession of our inheritance remains with us beyond the Yardan.”
Num 32:33 So Mashah gave to the children of Gad, to the children of Ra'uban, and to half the tribe of Manashah, son of YahuSaph, the reign of Sichan sovereign of the Amariy and the reign of Au'ug sovereign of Bashan, the land with its cities within the borders, the cities of the land round about.
Num 32:34 And the children of Gad built Diban and Autaruth and Aur'aur,
Num 32:35 and Autrath, Shuphan and Yau'zar and Yagbahah,
Num 32:36 and Biyth Namrah and Biyth Haran, walled cities, and enclosures for sheep.
Num 32:37 And the children of Ra'uban built Chashbun and Al'aulah and Qarithiym,
Num 32:38 Nabu and Ba'aul Mau'un – the names being changed – and Shabmah. And they gave other names to the cities which they built.
Num 32:39 And the sons of Makir son of Manashah went to Gal'aud and took it, and dispossessed the Amariy who were in it.
Num 32:40 So Mashah gave Gal'aud to Makir, son of Manashah, and he dwelt in it.
Num 32:41 And Ya’ir son of Manashah went and took its small towns, and called them Chuth Ya’ir.
Num 32:42 And Nabach went and took Qanath and its villages, and he called it Nabach, after his own name.
Num 33:1 These are the departures of the children of Yashara'Al, who went out of the land of Matsriym by their divisions under the hand of Mashah and Aharan.
Num 33:2 And Mashah wrote down the starting points of their departures at the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and these are their departures according to their starting points:
Num 33:3 So they departed from Rau'masas in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month, on the morrow of the Phasach the children of Yashara'Al went out with boldness before the eyes of all the Matsriym,
Num 33:4 and the Matsriym were burying all their first-born, whom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had smitten among them. Also on their mighty ones 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had executed judgments.
Num 33:5 Then the children of Yashara'Al departed from Rau'masas and camped at Sakath.
Num 33:6 And they departed from Sakath and camped at Atham, which is on the edge of the wilderness.
Num 33:7 And they departed from Atham and turned back to Phiy Chairath, which is east of Ba'aul Tsaphun. And they camped near Magdal.

Num 33:9 And they departed from Marah and came to Ailamah. And at Ailam were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, so they camped there.

Num 33:33 And they departed from Char Hagadgad and camped at Yatbathah.
Num 33:34 And they departed from Yatbathah and camped at Aubranah.
Num 33:35 And they departed from Aubranah and camped at Autsin Gabar.
Num 33:36 And they departed from Autsin Gabar and camped in the Wilderness of Tsan, which is Qadash.
Num 33:37 And they departed from Qadash and camped at Mount Har, on the boundary of the land of Adum.
Num 33:38 Then Aharan the priest went up to Mount Har at the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and died there in the fortieth year after the children of Yashara'Al had come out of the land of Matsriym, on the first day of the fifth month.
Num 33:39 Now Aharan was one hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Har.
Num 33:40 And the sovereign of Aurad, the Kana'auniy, who dwelt in the South in the land of Kana'aun, heard of the coming of the children of Yashara'Al.
Num 33:41 So they departed from Mount Har and camped at Tsalmanah.

Num 33:49 And they camped by the Yardan, from Biyth Yashamath as far as the Abal Shatiym in the desert plains of Mu'ab.
Num 33:50 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah in the desert plains of Mu'ab by the Yardan of Yarachu, saying,
Num 33:51 “Speak to the children of Yashara'Al, and say to them, ‘When you have passed over the Yardan into the land of Kana'aun,
Num 33:52 then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and shall destroy all their engraved stones, and shall destroy all their moulded images, and lay waste all their high places,
Num 33:53 and you shall possess the land and dwell in it, for I have given you the land to possess.
Num 33:54 ‘And you shall divide the land by lot as an inheritance among your clans. To the larger you give a larger inheritance, and to the smaller you give a smaller inheritance. Wherever the lot falls to anyone, that is his. You inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.
Num 33:55 ‘And if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall be that those whom you let remain shall be pricks in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall trouble you in the land where you dwell.
Num 33:56 ‘And it shall be that I do to you as I thought to do to them.’ ”
Num 34:1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 34:2 “Command the children of Yashara'Al, and say to them, ‘When you come into the land of Kana'aun, this is the land which falls to you as an inheritance, the land of Kana'aun to its boundaries:
Num 34:3 ‘Then your southern border shall be from the Wilderness of Tsan along the border of Adum, and your southern border shall be eastward from the end of the Salt Sea.
Num 34:4 ‘Then your border shall turn from the southern side of the Ascent of Auqrabiym, continue to Tsanah, and be on the south of Qadash Barnau, and it shall go on to Chatsar Adar, and continue to Autsmanah.
Num 34:5 ‘And the border shall turn from Autsmun to the valley of Matsriym, and it shall end at the Sea.
Num 34:6 ‘As for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea for a border, this is your western border.
Num 34:7 ‘And this is your northern border: From the Great Sea you mark out your borderline to Mount Har,
Num 34:8 from Mount Har you mark out your border to the entrance of Chamath, and the edge of the border shall be toward Tsaddah,
Num 34:9 and the border shall proceed to Zaphranah, and it shall end at Chatsar Auinan. This is your northern border.
Num 34:10 ‘And you shall mark out your eastern border from Chatsar Auinan to Shaphamah,

Num 34:13 And Mashah commanded the children of Yashara'Al, saying, “This is the land which you inherit by lot, which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe.
Num 34:14 “For the tribe of the children of Ra'uban according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance. And the half-tribe of Manashah has received its inheritance.
Num 34:15 “The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Yardan of Yarachu eastward, toward the sunrise.”
Num 34:16 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 34:17 “These are the names of the men who divide the land among you as an inheritance: Al'auzar the priest, and Yahusha son of Nun.
Num 34:18 “And take one leader of every tribe to divide the land for the inheritance.
Num 34:19 “And these are the names of the men. From the tribe of Yahudah: Kalab son of Yaphanah.
Num 34:20 “And from the tribe of the children of Shamau'un: Shamu'Al son of Aumihud.

Num 34:27 “And a leader from the tribe of the children of Ashar: Achiyhud son of Shalamiy.
Num 34:28 “And a leader from the tribe of the children of Naphthaliy: Phadah'Al son of Aumihud.”
Num 34:29 These are the ones 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded to divide the inheritance among the children of Yashara'Al in the land of Kana'aun.
Num 35:1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah in the desert plains of Mu'ab by the Yardan of Yarachu, saying,
Num 35:2 “Command the children of Yashara'Al that they shall give the Luiym cities to dwell in from the inheritance of their possession. Also give the Luiym open land around the cities.
Num 35:3 “And they shall have the cities to dwell in, and their open land for their cattle, and for their herds, and for all their livestock.
Num 35:4 “And the open land of the cities which you give the Luiym are from the wall of the city outward a thousand cubits all around.
Num 35:5 “And you shall measure outside the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits. And the city is in the middle. This is to them the open land for the cities.
Num 35:6 “And the cities which you give to the Luiym are the six cities of refuge, which you give to him who killed someone to flee to, and to these you add forty-two cities.
Num 35:7 “All the cities which you give to the Luiym are forty-eight, these with their open land.
Num 35:8 “And the cities which you give are from the possession of the children of Yashara'Al. From the larger tribe you give many, from the smaller you give few, each one gives some of its cities to the Luiym, in proportion to the inheritance that each inherits.”
Num 35:9 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
Num 35:10 “Speak to the children of Yashara'Al, and say to them, ‘When you pass over the Yardan into the land of Kana'aun,
Num 35:11 then you shall choose cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the one who accidentally killed someone shall flee there.
Num 35:12 ‘And they shall be cities of refuge for you from the revenger, and the one who killed someone is not to die until he stands before the congregation in right-ruling.
Num 35:13 ‘And of the cities which you give, six are to be cities of refuge.
Num 35:14 ‘Give three cities beyond the Yardan, and give three cities in the land of Kana'aun, as cities of refuge.
Num 35:15 ‘These six cities are for refuge for the children of Yashara'Al, and for the sojourner, and for the settler in their midst, for anyone who accidentally kills someone to flee there.
Num 35:16 ‘But if he has smitten him with an instrument of iron, so that he dies, he is a murderer. The murderer shall certainly be put to death.
Num 35:17 ‘And if he has smitten him with a stone in the hand, by which one could die, and he does die, he is a murderer. The murderer shall certainly be put to death.
Num 35:18 ‘Or if he has smitten him with a wooden instrument that could kill, and he does die, he is a murderer. The murderer shall certainly be put to death.
Num 35:19 ‘The revenger of blood himself puts the murderer to death. When he meets him, he puts him to death.
Num 35:20 ‘And if he thrusts him through in hatred, or throws an object at him while lying in wait, so that he dies,
Num 35:21 or in enmity he smites him with his hand so that he dies, the one who smote him shall certainly be put to death, for he is a murderer. The revenger of blood puts the murderer to death when he meets him.
Num 35:22 ‘But if he pushes him suddenly without enmity, or throws an object at him without lying in wait,
Num 35:23 or uses a stone, by which a man could die, throwing it at him without seeing him, so that he dies, while he was not his enemy or seeking his harm,
Num 35:24 then the congregation shall judge between him who killed someone and the revenger of blood, according to these right-rulings.
Num 35:25 ‘And the congregation shall rescue the one who killed someone from the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall return him to the city of refuge where he had fled, and he shall remain there until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the set-apart oil.
Num 35:26 ‘But if the one who killed someone at any time goes outside the limits of the city of refuge where he fled,
Num 35:27 and the revenger of blood finds him outside the limits of his city of refuge, and the revenger of blood kills him who killed someone, he is not guilty of blood,
Num 35:28 because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest. But after the death of the high priest he who killed someone is to return to the land of his possession.
Num 35:29 ‘And these shall be for a law of right-ruling to you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
Num 35:30 ‘Whoever kills someone has to be put to death as a murderer by the mouth of witnesses, but only one witness does not bear witness against someone to die.
Num 35:31 ‘And take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death, but he shall certainly be put to death.
Num 35:32 ‘And take no ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge to return to dwell in the land before the death of the priest.
Num 35:33 ‘And do not pollute the land where you are, because bloodshed pollutes the land, and the land is not pardoned for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who shed it.
Num 35:34 ‘And do not defile the land which you inhabit, in the midst of which I dwell, for I, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, am dwelling in the midst of the children of Yashara'Al.’ ”
Num 36:1 And the heads of the fathers of the clans of the children of Gal'aud, son of Makir, son of Manashah, of the clans of the sons of YahuSaph, came near and spoke before Mashah and before the leaders, the heads of the fathers of the children of Yashara'Al,
Num 36:2 and said, “ 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded my master to give the land as an inheritance by lot to the children of Yashara'Al, and my master was commanded by 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 to give the inheritance of our brother Tsalaphchad to his daughters.
Num 36:3 “Now if they are married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Yashara'Al, then their inheritance shall be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry, and taken from the lot of our inheritance.
Num 36:4 “And if the Yabal of the children of Yashara'Al takes place, then their inheritance shall be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry, and their inheritance taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.”
Num 36:5 And Mashah commanded the children of Yashara'Al according to the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, saying, “What the tribe of the sons of YahuSaph speaks is right.
Num 36:6 “This is the word which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has commanded, for the daughters of Tsalaphchad, saying, ‘Let them marry who is good in their eyes, but let them marry only within the clan of their father’s tribe.’
Num 36:7 “And the inheritance of the children of Yashara'Al is not to change hands from tribe to tribe, for every one of the children of Yashara'Al is to cling to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
Num 36:8 “And every daughter possessing an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Yashara'Al is to be the wife of one of the clan of her father’s tribe, so that the children of Yashara'Al possess each the inheritance of his fathers.
Num 36:9 “Thus the inheritance is not to change hands from one tribe to another, but every tribe of the children of Yashara'Al is to cling to its own inheritance.”
Num 36:10 As 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded Mashah, so did the daughters of Tsalaphchad.
Num 36:11 For Machlah, Thartsah, and Chaglah, and Malkah, and Na'auh, the daughters of Tsalaphchad, were married to the sons of their father’s brothers.
Num 36:12 And they were married into the clans of the children of Manashah, the son of YahuSaph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of their father’s clan.
Num 36:13 These are the commands and the right-rulings which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 commanded the children of Yashara'Al by the hand of Mashah in the desert plains of Mu'ab by the Yardan of Yarachu.
